Orange County Dolls (OC Dolls™) was born
from a series of thoughts that joined to create a product with a unified purpose; to create an original artistic product that
one could identify with Orange County.
During the products
conception phase it was decided that the dolls would be manufactured from natural and mostly recycled materials and the assembly
process would use minimal or no synthetic materials, additionally in order to protect the environment, no chemical preservatives
would be used.
Why orange peels?
primary reason this material was selected was because of the significant contribution that the citrus industry played in the
development of Orange County and its recognition as the symbol of the County.
Additional reasons include: Orange
peels are moldable, they contain natural oils which elude a wonderful aroma, the peels used in these dolls are made from recycled
industry by-product, and they have a nice color and texture and are durable when dried.
Because dolls can easily characterize the varied cultural and racial makeup of Orange County
and because these dolls are designed to sit or stand in any corner or window o our homes, as a decorative item and may also
be easily transported from state to state or country to country thereby transporting a bit of our patrimony around the world.
These dolls are handmade and therefore may contain natural or manual imperfections which make each one unique.
Although various models exist, no two dolls are identical; the colors, sizes and age of each doll are unique. The artist’s
signature and company logo are handwritten underneath a shoe and serve to authenticate your doll.
